2014/2015 Transdata’s Highlights
The company’s development in recent years is the result of meeting its goal for having a unique profile in project logistics and heavy lift inside the Brazilian and South America market. Innovative engineering solutions, high-tech equipment and its human resource enable Transdata to make feasible projects of industrial sectors around the country and South America.Transdata is the first and only South American company that achieved the Rigging Job of the Year award from SC&RA.
The Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) is an international association of nearly 1,300 member companies from 43 nations involved in specialized transportation, crane and rigging operations, manufacturing and rental.
The association holds the competition of the best job ever with the top leading companies around the world. Transdata is the winner of the best rigging job 2015 award for the erection and settlement of two plate mill housings at one of the world’s largest specialty long steel manufacturers. For this event, Transdata had already performed the specialized transport of the cargo which was considered the largest interstate overland haulage in Brazil.
The winning job involved extremely intricate procedures using 1,000 and 500-tonnes hydraulic gantry system to support the installation of the plate mill housings of 14.63 x 05.50 x 02.21 meters weighing 325 metric tons into their bases. The solution focused on safe execution, cost, and time saving. The first time hydraulic gantry systems were used to perform this kind of settlement.
Transdata recognizes that its success is based on the team’s dedication and congratulates everyone of its staff for this achievement.
Overland Haulage Featured in São Paulo
The overland haulage operation of one of the largest rotors manufactured in the world was featured on news channels, specialized TV shows and magazines, it also amazed the drivers of the roads where it passed. The equipment weighs 316 tonnes and is almost 9 meters long, 5 meters high and left Araraquara (Countryside of São Paulo State) to be delivered in the Port of Santos (SP) to be shipped to Xingu River Basin to Belo Monte Hydroelectric Project.
The cargo travelled across the state of São Paulo in a transport set of 108 meters length and 675 tonnes, consisting of 03 750cv-prime mover, 02 sets of 18 axle lines and the girder specially designed for this operation.
Pipe Racks Internal Haulage
The Pipe Rack internal transport operation at the refinery was featured all around the world. It has won the ESTA 2013 Prize as the best SPMT job of the year. The main scope for TFB was the heavy transport of more than 200 pipe rack modules from the manufacturing area up to foundation by means of SPMT’s. The modules (composed of three groups with different width ranging from 3 to 6 and 9 meters) are long between 25 and 35 meters, weighing between 100 and 800 ton. Due to the peculiar configuration of the frame, the modules were mainly transported with two rows of axle lines SPMT’s.
The Heaviest Interstate Overland Haulage Performed in the Country
The overland haulage of the two Plate Mill Housing pieces is considered the heaviest interstate transportation performed in Brazil. As the plates weight 325.57 tonnes each their haulage needed to be carried out at least with one-month break between them to respect the ground capacity of the road. The total gross weight of each transporter was 774 tonnes and traveled through BR 40 State of Rio de Janeiro to State of Minas Gerais.
First Brazilian Wind Turbine Model
Participating in another national project of great importance brought to Transdata the pleasure to run the assembly of the first Brazilian wind turbine model. The operation included the transport, internal handling, lifting and electromechanical assembly of the wind turbine, which has towers made of concrete and height of 120 meters.
3,000-tonne Tower Lift
Transdata and Transdata Fagioli do Brasil supported the assembly of the equipment at the shipyard located in Suape Port (PE). The high point of this operation was the erection of the main pieces by a 3,000-tonne tower lift system: Main Girder, Fixed Legs e Hinged Legs.
Performing tower lift systems on projects is new to the Brazilian market. The towers are structural modules where strand jacks work lifting the cargo. This system allows the assembling of heavy and over dimensioned equipment, thus reducing interferences and optimizing the operational schedule.
Handling of P74 Modules
Transdata received three modules for the P74 FSPO from ship directly onto self-propelled modular trailers (SPMT’s) to perform their internal handling and unloading. The operation had a high degree of complexity due to the weight and height of the modules. Weather conditions were also a risk factor, but the Transdata’s team showed experience in enabling the operation.
The P74 will be the first FSPO (Floating Production Unit, Storage and Transfer) for the Cessão Onerosa, pre-salt in Bahia de Santos. The P74 will have the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil a day and 7 million Mm³ / d of gas.
Ship Loader Handling – Latin American Largest Port Expansion Project
Supporting the installation of the ship loader CN03, at the terminal port Porto da Madeira in São Luís, State of Maranhão, Transdata performed the internal haulage of the main girder by two 1,000-tonne hydraulic gantry systems to transfer the equipment along nine meters.
The expansion of the port terminal Porto da Madeira is the largest Latin America port project and part of the BRL $ 7 billion investment in port logistic of the Brazilian Mining largest company. Its goal is transporting the production of the most important facility expansion project of the company called Serra Sul in Carajás, State of Pará.
Wind Turbines Turnkey
Transdata takes part of the wind turbines assembly in Alto do Sertão III in Caetité, State of Bahia. Overland and internal haulage, lifting and electromechanical assembly of 140 wind turbines and the entire administration process are part of the company’s operating scope. In the second stage of the project will be more 125 turbines.
The complex will be the largest wind farm in Latin America, with 265 wind turbines in total, divided into 22 farms. They will generate 1449.4 MW of power.
Truck Mounted Access Platform Working Heights to 70 meters
Transdata presented to Brazilian market the Truck Mounted Access Platform WT 700 – an innovative solution to cover the complete spectrum of working heights to 70 meters. It is flexible and efficient on the job and offers maximized capacity through elements such as the telescopic and hanging workman basket and the telescopic articulating boom.
SPMT’s Largest Fleet in Latin America
After the acquisition of 120 SPMT’s (self-propelled modular trailers), Transdata became the company owning the Latin American largest self-propelled axes fleet.
Investment in the Marine Sector
Barges and tugs purchasing to facilitate multimodal operations, road haulage union with sea / river transport, enabling to access regions where road infrastructure is poor.
Heavy Duty 2015
Transdata won the award Heavy Duty 2015 – Advanced Fleet, the unique Brazilian prize dedicated to complex cargo handling companies. « Back
